DMV , we are fully insured and all our driving instructors are licensed by NYS DMV.
Our services are offered to people 16 years old and older, who hold a NYS DMV
issued learner permit or a drivers license as well as an international license.
Cancellations and refunds– when scheduling driving lessons, please know
we reserve an instructor and a car just for you. If for any reason you
cannot keep an appointment or need to make changes, please call the
office at least 24 business hours before the scheduled date for weekday
one hour lessons (we do not accept cancellations on Sundays) and 48
hour notice for weekend lessons
or for two hour lessons or for a lesson
and road test service. Please make sure to speak to a staff member, text
messages and emails might not reach us until a later time . If the required
notice is not given, a fee of $45 or the full lesson fee will be charged to
you depending on the timing of your notice. Please note that if the
instructor is on the way to your house or at your house already and the
student is not able to take the scheduled lesson for any reason the
scheduled service fee will be charged to you. The driving school may
cancel or reschedule lessons due to:
-inclement weather: heavy rain, snow, ice, wind or unsafe, slippery roads
-vehicle issues: unexpected repairs
-instructor unavailability: illness or personal emergencies If the student, having given prior notice of at least 24/48 business hours
depending on the case, withdraws from or discontinues a prepaid course of
instruction or series of lessons before completion thereof, or from any other
service for which prepayment has been made, or if the school is unable or
unwilling to complete such prepaid course of instruction, or series of lessons, or to
provide such other prepaid service, all payments made by the student to the
school can be refunded or the credit can be issued per the student’s (or parent/
guardian if under 18yo).
Road test scheduling – Please call or email the office to request the
scheduling of a road test appointment with NYS DMV, our driving school
will not be contacting you for scheduling the road test appointment
(except if you request that the student be added to the waiting list for a
road test for a specific date range). Please note it is the student’s
responsibility to prepare with the necessary documents for the day of the
road test. A list of the documents is found on the DMV website as well as
on our emails that confirm/remind the road test appointment. For under
18 years old you will need to present on the day of the road test the
following documents: the photo learner permit, a prelicensing course
certificate (MV 278 form) or a Drivers Ed certificate (MV 285 form),
whichever applies to you and the certification of supervised driving form
signed by a parent or guardian (MV 262 form). For 18 years old and up
you will only need the photo learner permit and the prelicensing course
certificate (MV 278 form). If the student is under 18yo and needs an
instructor to sign the MV 262 form for you please make sure to hand it to
the instructor at your last scheduled lesson with us. Please note that
once the instructor takes you to the road test location, if for any reason
you are not able to take the test and you have to reschedule it for another
day you will be charged for the road test service fee, even if you did not
take the actual test. Also, if the DMV changes the student’s road test
location at the last minute they will not let us know, they will only notify
the student. Please let the driving school know right away otherwise you
might miss your road test appointment and forfeit the road test fee.
Payments- we require prepayment for all services offered. In order to send an
instructor to your house for driADRIving lessons we need to receive payment in
advance by credit card for single lessons or have an agreement with the student
(or parent/guardian if under 16yo) for cash or check payment at the first lesson
(directly to the instructor) for packages. Please note payment for package are not
refundable.
Driving lessons safety– Students must follow instructions from the
instructor. Failure to comply may result in an immediate lesson
cancellation with no credit offered for that lesson. No passengers (friends
or family) are allowed unless pre-approved by the office. Pick up and
drop off for the student is limited to the locations agreed by the parent/
guardian at the time of the scheduling. Any changes require a written
request signed by the parent/guardian.
Please note if the student is late
for a driving lesson they will loose that time from the lesson. We are
usually on a tight schedule and are not able to make up time. If the
driving instructor is late for any lesson scheduled please know we will
work with you to make up the time, same day if possible, if not, at a
different scheduled lesson. The driving school is responsible for hiring,
training and retaining the driving instructors and for proper vehicle
maintenance.
Privacy and security– student information is used solely for legal and
educational purposes and never shared externally. Only the driving
school and the NYS DMV have access to this information. Credit cards
are not stored on file. We will ask for your credit card information every
time you need to complete a payment. All services need to be completed
within 24 months from the start date. Please note packages are not
refundable.
Online prelicensing course (5 hour course) – If you are not able to attend
please call the office to reschedule with 24 hours notice in advance if
possible or as early as possible. If you miss your scheduled class you will
have to pay the class fee again to reschedule. Once you complete the
class you are not able to receive a refund for any reason. If we allow you
to reschedule the class one time as a courtesy please note you are not
able to ask for a refund . Please make sure we have a picture of your
photo learner permit on file so the teacher can issue a certificate for you
at the end of the class. Otherwise per NYS DMV you might have to take
the class again. Certificates are automatically sent to the student’s
address printed on the learner permit. If you would like to pick up your
certificate instead or have us mail it to you at a different address please
email the office as soon as you complete the course. If any student does
not receive the certificate in the mail in 3 weeks for any reason, they can
request a duplicate certificate at no charge to them. Duplicate
certificates need to be picked up at the office, they can not be mailed per
NYS DMV. Please allow at least 24 hours notice for any duplicate
certificates. If the original certificate is lost by the student, they can
request a duplicate certificate by contacting the office. There is a $30 fee
in this case and the 24 hour rule and pick up at the office still applies. A
family member can pick up the certificate as well, not only the student.
